Tranlogue will host a workshop of rice planting in the style like WWOOF in Chiba, Japan.
In our workshop which goes in the 8th year, we continue to succeed raising rice with pesticide-free production and 100% organic fertilizer by hand work despite being considered impossible before starting the workshop.
You must join us if you are interested in Japanese culture, people and traditional planting.
For more information, please feel free to email us with any questions you may have. (info@tranlogue.jp)
Photos of last year's workshop.
We are going to make a toast with sparkling turbid "Sake" (Sake is Japanese rice wine) which is made from locally sourced rice. (Left photo: red turbidity derived from yeast / Right photo: white turbidity) Tranlogue engaged in the product development, naming of this sake, and also designed the package.

(*1) Tranlogue holds workshops in the style like WWOOF. This is mutual cooperation system. We offer participants the know-how for the farm work with pesticide-free production and 100% organic fertilizer, and give meals and drink in exchange for farm working by participants.
(*) We enjoy working in two to four hours with some breaks in this workshop.
You can see previous workshops on the following pages.
Let's learn rice planting in advance!
A length of rice seedling is about 20 cm.
Plant five rice seedlings at a spot.
Some textbooks instruct to plant three at a spot. But we make it a practice to plant five so as to avoid failure.
Plant rice seedlings in a depth of 5 cm (the length of second joint of a finger) under the soil holding base of seedlings.
Good example: Make a bundle of seedlings and plant vertically.
If most part of a leaf is out of water, rice plants can grow faster by getting lots of sunlight.
Bad example: Scattered seedlings are lodged by wind or water wave.
If seedlings grow at a tilt, they become an encumbrance to getting rid of weeds.
Bad example: Must not plant most part of seedlings under the soil.
Rice plants grow extremely slowly or die if seedlings are planted deeper than the depth of their root and lower part of stalk under the soil.
